HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!

My name is Anna Slavin. I am a Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist. I graduated from the Toronto-based Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. During my sessions, I utilize a broad range of massage therapy techniques, such as: cranial therapy, myofascial and deep tissue release. Successfully working with adults, my passion has always been geared towards massage therapy of newborns and older children. They need this therapy no less then adults. I gained this passion during my previous experience back home working with newborns as a pediatric massage therapist. Depending on a child's needs, I use a combination of special pediatric massage techniques and an individually-tailored exercise program. This allows me to achieve the best results for my little patients. Evidence has shown that massage and special gymnastics can benefit a wide range of kid’s health issues.

HOW MASSAGE AND GYMNASTICS CAN BENEFIT YOUR BABY

Infant massage and gymnastic belong to the same category as some of the most efficient methods that assist in a child physical and psychological development. A balanced lifestyle during childhood plays a significant role in a person’s development and his or her health. Nowadays, the environment and high stress levels impact all of us and it is no surprise that very few children are born completely healthy. However, many health problems can be avoided with the help of regular massage and gymnastic therapy according to the child age. During a child’s first year of life, body system, including the digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular and nervous system are not fully developed. A combination of massage and physical exercises can influence how the child develops. Muscles and sensory neurons are stimulated, and, as a result, brain functions get positive boost contributing to the child’s intellectual development. Integrated massage and gymnastic bring new sensations to an infant stimulation the brain and helping the little one’s mental development. Regular sessions bring a schedule to a child’s life, and the beginning of a routine. During the massage sessions a child learns to better regulate his or her body temperature, improving resilience to the elements, in particular, cooler temperature. It is recommended that infant massage and gymnastic be introduced as early as possible. Around the age of 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. It is during these first months that the reflexes of newborn play a significant role, and exercises which are based on these reflexes are very beneficial for overall muscle tone. In addition, these exercises assist in the development of many muscles that are not regularly used and in the stimulation of the part of the central nervous system. These exercises are called reflexive gymnastic and are recommended for babies less than 3 months old. As a child develops massage and therapeutic gymnastic can influence when and how a child will start sitting on their own, crawling and walking. In the case of children with neurological and orthopedic challenges, massage and therapeutic gymnastic have proven to be more effective than medicines.
