PREVENTION OF POSTURAL DISORDERS

It is not the power of muscles that is important for the maintenance of proper posture, but rather the harmonization of the work of various muscle groups and harmonious development of the Musculo-ligamentous apparatus of the whole body; therefore, special attention shall be given to the general physical development of the child, moreover, you should start from the first months of the baby’s life, when a formation of the spine and its physiological curves takes place.
A disturbance of the tone and the development of reflexes often results in a delay of impellent development. The massage and gymnastics for children in the first year of life are a good basis for the proper development of the musculoskeletal system. Parents should remember that the freer the baby in its movements, the better it develops; it is harmful to put them in a little chair or surround them with pillows at an early stage, it leads to increased thoracic kyphosis, which subsequently may appear in slouching. You mustn’t always carry the baby on the same hand (or on one side), as in this position its pelvis is skewed and the spine is bent. It is necessary to correct the disturbances of muscle tone in time; exclusive attention shall be paid to the asymmetry of muscle tone, as not fully healed muscular torticollis, dysplasia of hip joints, and, of course, rickets severely interfere with the formation of posture. Timely and full-fledged crawling has a huge importance in the prevention of defects of posture, scoliosis and other disorders of the musculoskeletal system (for example, flat feet and curvature of the lower extremities), it's a great workout for muscles of the entire body, education of movement coordination, and herewith the spine is free of static load. While crawling, all the muscles involved in the various movements of the spine are in development, there won’t be such a favorable chance anymore.
